Rockin Js, Puerto Viejo de Limon
Only a 4 hour bus ride from San Jose, Rocking Js is located right on the beach in the Caribbean town of Puerto Viejo. There is always a party at this rockin’ hostel, but if you choose to sleep you have your choice of hammocks, tents, dorms, or if you’re all that, the Pimp Suite sleeps 4 for the low price of $50 and has its own private balcony.

Tranquilo Backpackers, San José
Located 20 minutes from the airport in downtown San José, this hostel has a laid back atmosphere and funky decor. Enjoy the live music or hop on the stage yourself for open mike. Hostel Pangea, San José
While known as San José’s party hostel, Pangea offers the only rooftop bar in all of San José. Kick it all night at the dance club or enjoy music and drinks by the pool.
