I’m costarrican and what this article says is nonsense. First the weed here can be smoked almost everywhere if the cops get you they will take your shit away but just that they won’t take you to court unless you carry a big amount with you. And then if you’re looking for good quality an ounce of chronic could cost well over $50 or $60 depending who you buy it from. Most people here often buy it in San Jose surroundings ’cause in the downtown sucks

I am costarrican, and I think that some of the issues discussed in this article are complete bullshit.

In the city, most is grown in doors, and you can get anything, from Purple Haze to Chronic (here it is called “Cripi”).

“You will be hard pressed to find anything to smoke with other than rolling papers. Some shops and hostels will have blunt wraps, but that is about it. Glassware is pretty much non existent. Every once in a while you will find a shop or hippie that has bowls, but they are usually of very poor quality. You will usually see hand made clay bowls at tourist shops and street vendors. These are crap.”

This is BS too. In San Jose you can get anything from bongs to vaporizers. Glassware is specially common, and pipes come on any size.THere is actually a store called “Tierra Libre”, where they sell any type of smoking mechanisms. Selling pipes and bongs is legal.

“Weed – $40-$50 an ounce”

No.

Cheap/Crappy Weed – $40-$50 an ounce.
Good Quality Weed – $300-$400 and ounce.

Most dealers here sell by the eigth of an ounce, which end up costing 10 bucks for cheap shit and 50 for good shit.
