The Arenal volcano is located close to the La Fortuna town. The volcano has been erupting almost continuously since 1968, but since October 2010 it’s been in a resting state.

The volcano is not the only landmark in the area. Lake Arenal and the Arenal waterfall are also excellent choices for day trips. The hot springs are a good way to relax after a hike.
