Costa Rica Horseback Riding

Guanacaste Region
La Chacara Hacienda
The La Chacara Hacienda is located in the Guanacaste area just five minutes from Liberia. This is an authentic working Ranch with livestock, fields, fruit trees, and sugercane. The Don Tobias tour is a family oriented tour that roams the Northern Lowlands of Costa Rica. There are two tours available, Morning and Afternoon. This tour lasts approximately 3 hours and winds through cattle fields, secondary forests, and finally to a Lagoon near the magical Arenal Volcano. These horses are well taken care of and will give you the experience of a lifetime. Transportation is provided for an additional fee.

Horeback Riding Manuel Antonio
These tours are located in the Central Pacific region of Costa Rica, and provide a wide variety of wonderful landscapes. There are two tour times available, morning and mid day, you can choose what time best fits your schedule. During these tours you will have the opportunity to ride through the Costa Rican rainforest and along the banks of beautiful waterfalls. The guide will show you the traditional medicinal plants in the region and to top off the ride you can take a swim in a natural pool that is fed by the waterfalls. Depending on what time your tour is lunch or dinner will be provided.

Central Highlands Region
Horseback Monteverdeto Arenal (Lake Route)
This tour can be navigated even by the most inexperience riders, and begins with a van ride from your hotel in Monteverde to Rio Chiquito, where the horseback portion of the tour will start. This is a 2 1/2 hour ride, so be sure that you come prepared. You will be led through amazing jungles and farmlands to the shores of the Arenal Lake to view the outstanding Arenal Volcano, as you continue on your ride you will arrive at Castillo, a lakeside town. Here you will be sent on a boat to the opposite shore and put on a van back to your new hotel in La Fortuna. This is a tour that you don’t want to miss, and includes guides, lunch, rain ponchos, luggage transfer, and transportation to and from your hotels.
