The San Lorenzo Inn
If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica and are looking for a clean, modestly price hotel to use as a base of operations for your trip than the San Lorenzo Inn is the way to go. This is not a luxury hotel, but is modestly priced and has everything you could want if you are only planning to use your hotel for your base of operations. The hotel is great for families and has a friendly and extremely attentive staff. They do an outstanding job of providing for their guests and you will have a hard time finding care and treatment this genuine from any hotel in all of Costa Rica.
Accommodations and Amenities
There are not many rooms available so if you are thinking about booking at the San Lorenzo plan as far in advance as you can. Two of the four rooms available have queen sized bed and the other two have double twin beds. Each room comes with a closet, a bookshelf for storage of books or extra clothes, a desk that is well lit, a night stand table and a 14 inch television with cable. There is also WiFi Internet available in each room for free. Everything in the room is clean and very up to date.
The building itself is fairly new and all of the utilities are in great working order. The private bathrooms are also clean with nice water pressure and hot showers. None of the rooms have smoking in them, which for most people is preferred, but there is a smoking area if you are a smoker. Each room also comes with breakfast included which you can eat in the communal area. Outside if you are looking to eat dinner at your room there is a barbecue area that you can take full advantage of. The coffee and food are outstanding and cooked with care. Because the facility is so small the family that runs San Lorenzo can pay special attention to your needs.
What to Expect
The staffs extensive knowledge of the area helps you to make sure that all of your outings are the best. They have an extensive knowledge of the surrounding areas and what there is to do. If you are stumped and out of ideas you can turn to them and feel confident that they will find something that is enjoyable for you to do. Costa Rica is filled with many great activities, some well known others that are just known by locals. By working with them you can find activities that are not crowded with tourists that are exciting, authentic, and fun.
If you are looking for a luxury resort with an on site restaurant and full amenities and view of the ocean with a price tag to go with, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a very comfortable, clean, and friendly place to hang your hat at night then you will be hard pressed to find anyplace better than the San Lorenzo. With room prices a tenth of what you will pay at the luxury resorts you can save your money to use on what you came to Costa Rica to do, enjoy the country.
At the end of the day you can rest comfortably in your room knowing that tomorrow will bring a host of other activities for you and your family. Wake up with the best cup of coffee in the country, a delicious breakfast, then set out for your day.
